Vlogging 'what I did today'

On Friday I had a super busy day so I wanted to vlog on what I did that day.  I used my iPhone to record me doing various things like an exercise video, threading my eyebrows, walking the dog, shopping and waxing my legs.
That night we went to hubby's cousins for a barbecue so I didn't have time to edit. Our computer has broken so it took for ages trying to find an app on my phone to edit videos and upload them. I came across an app called SPLICE. It's fantastic!!! It did take me a while to edit the clips because I took quite a few and I was really busy over the weekend but I just love this app and its free!

Here is my video of What I did today!

Have a nice day!

How to dress your wound movie editing nightmare

I decided that as I wanted to get into vlogging I would do a few videos to get me use to making and editing them. Wellll!!! oh my goodness!!!
If you dont know what you are doing its hard!
Theres some people thinking, No its dead easy.
Well I really struggled. I first used an app on my ipad which was a big mistake because once I had filmed the video I couldnt share them anywhere else. This was Video Booth. Then I tried researching a load of free video editing app for ipads and with most of them something wasnt right for me. I then decided I would edit them on my mac book which is about 10 years old. It took me ages to try get hold of the videos and transfer them over to my mac. I ended up using Dropbox but then ran out of storage, for a few files dropbox is quite good.
By the Way this took me all of Friday and most of Saturday I wanted to pull my hair out!! Everything just went wrong!!! :-(
So eventually I got it all up and edited and uploaded to youtube only to watch it and realise it was not good quality. I just couldnt believe it, I filmed it on my ipad so it was good then but cus my mac is so old when I saved it on there it must have changed the quality. After 2 days trying to upload I thought what the fudge i'll just leave it on there its only a 5 minute video.
Anyways all weekend it has been bugging me and im a bit of a perfectionist so today I have uploaded Windows Movie maker and It worked YEY!!!!! I think it is perfect for what I wanted and easy to upload videos and edit AND it was free to download.
Im all ready now to make more videos and edit them with ease.
Here is my video

Thank you for watching
Have a great Day

What to expect after laparoscopy Operation

Here are a few things that I have experienced after my Laparoscopy dye and hysteroscopy operation.

Chest and shoulder pain
This is caused by the gas they use to inflate the abdomen which pushes the organs away from the abdomen wall so the surgeon can see clearly.
This was really the only thing that was painful for me. It made it worse by eating or lying down.
You can relive it by:-
Movement/ gentle walking
Peppermint tea
Massage to the shoulder or painful area.( I got hubby to do this for me and it really helped. I knew I would get him to massage me for more than 5 mins one day lol)
Co-codamol, this knocked me out so I just feel asleep but the pain came back when I woke up.
You will find that you might burp or be a bit gassy, this however doesn't relive the pain.
By day 3 it had gone.

Wear loose clothing
You will feel quite bloated and swollen from the gas. I have been wearing
Loose clothing to make myself feel more comfortable. I would also advise to wear loose clothing after the surgery when you come home, this is when you'll be your most bloated.

When you first pass urine you might have some bleeding. It will be like the end of a period and very light. I would advise to wear a sanity towel for a week as you might have a bit of spotting here and there.

Sore throat
I had a sore throat after coming out of surgery because of the tube they put down. It will feel a little scratchy a few days after but nothing major.

Tight, sore and bruised
The skin around your stitches will feel a little tight and sore but not as much as I thought it would be. I have one stitch one my side, Two just underneath and one in my belly button, this is probably the most tender and my tummy is quite bruised.
( Iv just taken off my dressing so that's why my skin is red and has weird lines on it)

Pain relief
I'm not really one for taking tablets but if I really can't cope I'll take them. They gave me Co-Codamol for the pain and Diclofenac which is an anti inflammatory. The first time I took Diclofenac was the night before the gas pain went. I don't know if this was why it got better or just a coincidence. I took the co-codamol the first 2 days as the shoulder pain was unbearable and these just knocked me out.

Having to change your side of the bed
If like me you have a side of the bed you sleep on and for no reason you will compromise on changing it with hubby, I'm afraid this is when you will need to.
I have to sleep on the left side of the bed and will not change for anything but for the fact hubby might elbow me in the night you have to make sure your wounds are on the side hubby isn't. I think hubby was that conscious of not elbowing my side, the first night I woke up with both his arms over my face. He said it was the only part of my body he could hold. Ahhh bless him!

Afternoon naps
If you are tired or feel like you need a nap. Get on the sofa or into bed and do just that! Don't feel guilty, your body is recovering and if your tired it's your body's way of telling you, you need rest!

Avoid Driving
I'm on day 4 after the op and I still haven't driven, but iv not needed to. They say 48hours after but if you need to do an emergency stop you might cause damage to your wounds. Everyone is different so if you feel like you can drive safely then go for it.

O Natural
You need to keep your wounds dry for at least 24 hours so just this once you are allowed to smell a bit. After that you can have only showers, try not to soak your wounds. Stand with your back to the water and let the water drip down your body. Don't be afraid if soap runs on it just don't rub it in. After showering pat dry your wound and place new dressing on the area.

Re place dressing

You will have dressing on from the Op but once you get in the shower it will get wet and you will have to replace it. You can buy this from a pharmacy. Re place dressing every time you shower or every day. I don't use any antiseptic or lotion on the wound as the water is enough. If your wound turns a funny colour or keeps bleeding go to your doctor to get it checked out.

Time off work
I am taking some time out from work while we are going through our IVF journey. Seek advice from your doctor into how long you should take off work as it all depends on what job you have. They will say a week or so but it all depends on how you feel.

Rest is a great healer!
After a few days you might feel back to your normal self or like me your itching to do housework but just remember you have had surgery and you might feel better in yourself but your body is still recovering so just rest.

I hope this helps.

Have a great day

Laparoscopy operation day and results

The day has finally come and I'm am in the waiting area of the hospital getting ready for my operation. I'm writing this as the day goes on so bare with me :-)

I arrived at the hospital checked in and was sent to the day ward. I then waited to see the specialist that is doing my operation which was the really nice doctor we saw the other day. She asked me if there was any questions I wanted answering which I couldn't think of anything apart from when will I be able to go home. Lol! She said my operation will be around 12pm and I am now waiting to be seen by a nurse to get allocated a bed.

8:30 A nurse calls me through takes my blood pressure and asks if I'm allergic to anything. She asks me for a urine sample and gives me a gown and (sexy) socks lol! Back to the waiting area I go.
Still waiting and getting really frustrated and anxious.
Been moved to another waiting area which is inside the ward and not in the waiting area where there are new mums and babies. I told hubby to go cus he didn't realise we would be waiting this long and didn't book work off. My mouth is so dry because I can't drink anything and they have just bought lunch round for the ward and my tummy is rumbling.
There's another lady waiting with me and we can't believe we have been Waiting for so long.
They finally call me through and take me to my bed. I put my socks and gown on and sit on the bed and start reading my magazine. There's a couple of ladies in my room they are all around 80years old. One lady opposite me is being sick really loud and it's making me heave. Thankfully they come and collect me to take me down to surgery.
They wheel me down on the bed to the anaesthetic room. I was wearing a sports bra and had to take it off. They put some pads on my chest, I think to monitor my heart. The anaesthetist asks me to pump my hand so my veins pop up in my hand so they can put the cannula in which is where they put all your medication into. He put a vile in which he said helps with sickness when you come round. I look at the clock and it's 2:15. The nurse puts an oxygen mask on and tells me to take some deep breathes in. She is just chatting away to me and before I know it I'm asleep.
As I'm coming around I feel them take the tube out of my throat. It's horrible but after a few minutes I can't really remember it, it's really weird.
I look at the clock in the recovery room. The room is massive and there are loads of people in there. Each bed/ person has a nurse sat by them
monitoring them. I was a bit out of it so it's all a bit hazy. I do remember finding it hard to breathe so I took a few deep breathes in as I had my oxygen mask on. My Left side is a bit sore I have 3 incisions one by my belly button, one on the side and the other just below.
After what I presume was an hour they took me back up to the ward. My chest and shoulder felt really tight and uncomfortable I had read before that this is because of all the gas they pump into you causes pressure and it can be really painful so I was prepared for it. I had similar pain when I had the ectopic.
The nurse said she could give me some ibuprofen for the pain but I can't have it on an empty stomach. She bought me a cup of tea and some digestive biscuits. My throat was really sore from the tube so I didn't think I would be able to eat anything. I almost choked on the biscuit because it was so dry. I also knew that if I ate and drank something they would let me go home.
They took my drip out of my arm and told me once I was feeling better and had gone for a wee I could go.
One of the nurses that was helping out the specialist in the operation came round and talked to me about what they had found and done.
I had 2 adhesion's which is scar tissue from my ectopic. One they removed but the other one was near my bowel which they will look at another time. My one tube had no dye passing through it so it's completely blocked!!! I am devastated!! I knew It was likely that would be the case but I suppose I just never thought I would here those words. I have to wait till I have my follow up appointment in the next couple of weeks to find out more but IVF will defiantly be our next stage.
I couldn't hold back my tears, I just wanted to hide under the blanket and
Not have to talk to anyone. It made it worse that I heard the nurse telling the lady opposite me which was the women that was in the waiting area with me. She had her operation after me and they told her, both her tubes were fine. She is in her late 30s and all I could think of was a person my age shouldn't be going through all of this.
Hubby arrived and I broke down I'm just so devastated as always he was being really positive and saying it is a good thing that we can now have IVF but I just couldn't stop thinking of the heartbreak that I will never be able to conceive naturally.
I had passed urine and they had taken my cannula out. The nurse said she will do my discharge letter and I can go home. They give me co- codamol which is for pain relief and diclofenac Which is an anti inflammatory.
I'm home!!! I'm in quite a bit of discomfort with the chest and shoulder pain. Hubby makes me some soup then I fall asleep on the sofa.
Up to bed I go, the shoulder pain is still painful and at first it's really difficult to get comfortable but I'm so tired I fall asleep.

The day after (today) I'm in a lot of pain with the chest and shoulder pressure it eases a bit when I stand up or sit up straight but as soon as I lay back down the pain is really bad. I read on the Internet that one women thought she was having a heart attack it was that bad. Peppermint tea helps a bit but every time I eat something it is worse. The only thing that really makes a difference is the co- codamol which just sends me off to sleep.

I will keep you updated with my progression.

Have a good day

Fertility specialist! Finding out I have pcos!

After finding out it might be a 18 week wait till I get the date for my laparoscopy, as you can images I was devastated! The thought of having to wait another 4 months to find out what the next process would be either clomid or ivf depending if my remaining tube is blocked or not made me feel sick to my stomach and so depressed!
Hubby contacted one of the top specialist at the CRM that we had been going to, to find out if there is anything we could do. We had actually met her briefly at a fertility evening at our acupuncturist and had a quick conversation about my experience and she had advised us to come see her but we never got around to it.
We emailed her our concern with the waiting time and she said to come see her as we have only seen a Nurse and a trainee doctor previous. I couldn't believe that we had not been told before and that they weren't specialists, I thought this was really bad!
We met with the specialist yesterday 30th April and were really pleased that we did. She told me that from looking at my scan I could possibly have pcos which would cause the irregular periods but my hormones are normal. When I had the scan and saw the other doctor they said it was all ok. She explained to me because I have only one tube that halves my chances of getting pregnant and then because of the irregular periods it halves again so theoretically I only have 3 chances out of the year to get pregnant.
She was quite happy to put us straight on the ivf list but I told her that I had receive a letter from the hospital saying iv been booked in for my laparoscopy and dye for the 13th May which I was so pleased about. She said that we will wait to see what the results are of that and then go from there. She also added to my operation as she will be doing the surgery she wanted to be able to take away any scar tissue which is more than likely to be there because of the ectopic. So if I hadn't of seen her that would of been another operation that I would have had to wait for!
I am a bit upset and disappointed that I have pcos and that it looks like we will be having IVF. I really wanted to get pregnant naturally but now it's been 4 years I have to accept that we need a bit of help.

Have a great day

1st vlog!!!!!

So ladies I finally built up the courage to film my first vlog! Ahhhhh!
Hubby was away on business so I thought Id take the chance while I had some alone time and try and film a video on my Ectopic pregnancy.  It was exactly a year ( 26th April ) since my ectopic when i uploaded the vlog so thought it was quite fitting.
The reason for filming this video is I wanted to share my Story to help others, if they have been through the same or if someone thinks they have symptoms and were looking to see if it was an ectopic they are experiencing. I had a few problems to start with and my dog was bouncing on my bed so the camera kept moving around lol!
I hate watching myself talk but I just thought it doesn't matter if it helps someone I don't mind looking or sounding silly.
By the end of the video I actually enjoyed it and was glad to share my story.
So here it is ladies.....

Have a nice day

Birthday, flu and lots of chocolate

It was my Birthday the week before last, then we had Easter and then I had the flu so I haven't been good with my blogs. Sorry!

Hubby took me away for the weekend for my birthday which was lovely.
Everyone asked me what I wanted but I just didn't know so I got lots of gift cards which is fab cus when it gets a bit warmer I can get lots of summer clothes.

I also got a pink and black jacket from my mum which will look super cute with some jeans or black leggings or a black dress.

Hubby got me vouchers, champagne and some new trainers. My old ones are like 4 years old and are looking a bit depressed.

My Aunt and Uncle got me soap and glory body products. The birthday box has Clean on me Clarifying shower gel, a shower puff and Righteous body butter. The Scent-sationalism has Flirty floral body spray, spray on body moisturiser and soft and sexy body spray. I love soap and glory products they smell so nice and feel amazing on your skin.

The weekend after my birthday it was Easter, which we spent with the family eating lots of food and chocolate. I started getting a cold good Friday and by Easter Sunday I felt terrible. The chocolate did make me feel a little better tho! :-)

With lots going on I haven't carried on with my cellulite challenge but I am starting it again today and will update you with results.

Have a great day

What ingredients are in your skin care products

As a beauty therapist people Come to me to improve their skin but what they don't realise is the products that they are using could be causing their problems.
If you are using a cleanser, toner, exfoliant, or moisturiser check the ingredients and try and avoid the following.
Artificial colours - These are comedogenic which mean it can clogs pores and cause acne.
Octyl Palmitate - used as a thickening agent, especially un shaving creams. Can clog pores, cause
blackheads and Is a respiratory irritant.
Hydroquinone - bleaching agent and banned in Europe.
Urocanic Acid - Often used in sun screen. This is a skin irritant,
Lanolin - This is Sheep's sweat and is used in lip balms. Burts bees lip balms are 100% natural and don't have this in.
Para- amino benzoic (p.a.b.a) - Sun screen agent can cause allergic eczema and prickly heat.
Alcohol - Dehydrates and irritates.

These are just a few ingredients I have come across but please check your skin care products as they might be causing you more harm than good.

Feel free to ask me any questions.

Hope you have a great day!

Cellulite challenge!

So I have decide to do a cellulite challenge with a new product I have just bought. I tried this cream before my honeymoon however I was working out a lot and dieting, so I wanted to see if it worked again.
While I was shopping the other day and was trying on clothes something caught my eye in the changing room mirror to my horror it was cellulite on the front of my thigh. I could not believe it, I knew I had cellulite on the back at the top of my thigh but now it's moved to the front. I'm not happy at all!! I need to sort it out so I bought Nivea firming Goodbye cellulite gel cream. TheCream has L-Carnitine and coenzyme Q10 which supports the conversion of fatty acids into energy and helps reduce the formation of new fat cells. You don't need to spend extra time massaging the cream in and you should see improved firmness in 2 weeks. Can't wait!!!
Iv decided to post photos to show you what the difference is as you will be able to see yourself if it really works, fingers crossed!
Have a lovely day!!

Results day!

So today we had our appointment at the fertility clinic to go through my results from all my blood tests, ultrasound and swabs. I was so nervous waiting in the waiting room luckily we didn't have to wait long until the doctor called my name. SO.....deep breathe!

He went through all my results and he said they were all perfectly normal but the fact that my cycles are like 5-6 weeks might indicate that I'm not ovulating as regular but I am ovulating. So that is all good and positive.
The next step now is to see if my one remaining tube is clear or blocked. When I had my ectopic I had a laporatomy and a Salpingectomy, which is a large incision through the abdominal wall and removal of the Fallopian tube. Because of the surgery there is a possibility that there is scar tissue near my remaining tube and this could be causing the problem or a blocked tube. The only way to really see if my tube is blocked and to check the surrounding area is to have a laparoscopy and dye.
The operation is under general anaesthetic and you have a couple of small incisions near your belly button. You are pumped full of gas so your organs are protected, a camera is inserted and then dye is inserted into the cervix and then through the tube. From having my operation and ectopic my chances of risks have increased from 1 in 1000 to 1 in 300. I am nervous about it but I know it's just another step we have to go through to get to where we need to be.
If everything is fine with my tube I will be put on comid for 6 months then IUI, then IVF.  If the tube is blocked then we will go straight to IVF.

I am on the waiting list for the operation so it could be in a couple of weeks or a month or so, they didn't give me any indication into when it will be and just that I will receive a letter.

When we first started going through our fertility tests niavely I thought we would get pregnant soon but now I am realising we have a long and tiring journey ahead of us.

If anyone has been through similar I would love to hear you stories.

Have a great day!

My Must have's

I thought I would share with you My Must Have's!
These are all the products I just can't live without.

1. Simple, kind to skin cleansing facial wipes.
There's nothing better than taking your makeup off, it's the most amazing feeling in the world :-) These are really kind to sensitive skin.

2.Elizabeth Arden, Visible Difference gentle hydrating cleanser for Dry skin. If your like me and have sensitive but dry skin this cleanser is wonderful.

3. Soap & glory, the greatest scrub of all facial exfoliator.
As I have dry skin it sometimes gets flaky around my chin and nose so this exfoliator is very gentle but works a treat. Best exfoliator I have ever used!

4. No7 beautiful skin Day Cream normal/dry.
I have just recently gone back to using No7 cream as I was using Elizabeth Arden Eight Hour Day cream. Personally I think my skin gets use to day creams so I have to change to swop and change once in a while. When I finish this one I will go back to Elizabeth Arden. At the moment this day cream is really hydrating and there's not a dry patch insight! Yeppee

4. Elizabeth Arden eight hour cream.
Everyone must have one! I can't stress enough how amazing this cream is, it's a miracle cream. If you have any dry patches, spots, cold sores, dry lips, cuts then use this, it's brilliant I carry this with me in my handbag.

5. Dove, summer glow nourishing lotion self tanner, medium to dark skin.
I have just dyed my hair darker so it makes me look a bit washed out. Normally if I use self tanner on my face it gives me spots but this one has really worked for me. It's a gradually tanner so I applied it in the morning for 3 days and everyone commented on my natural tan. I applied it to my face and body. It has been voted No1 self tan in the UK.

6. L'oreal Studio Secrets Professional Primer.
This Primmer really works and makes your skin supper soft and even.

7.MAC, Pro Longwear foundation NW25
After first wearing Mac foundation 3 years ago I wont wear anything else, its Fantastic. It stays on all day.
8. L'oreal Truematch Mineral Powder foundation, Golden Beige.
I like to put a powder foundation over my liquid foundation I feel it gives more of an even finish. I was in a rush when I picked this up from Boots and I think the colour is a little dark for me but as Im wearing fake tan at the moment it seems ok. When It runs out I'll get the shade lighter.
To use this foundation you screw the brush off the top and dip into the powder, it is a bit messy as the powder does spill over the edge but that is the only down side to this product.

9. MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Deep Dark Bronzing Powder.
This is Quite Dark so you only need a little. I use it to shade my cheek bones and to blend in my neck and chest. In the summer I use it on my shoulders and tops of my arms as it makes them look dewy and bronzed.
10. MAC Mineralize Blush Dainty.
Natural Looking Blush However doesnt last as long as I would like but I have only just started using it so Im going to try applying a little more.

11. L'oreal Lash Architect 4D Mascara.
12. Bourjois Khol & Contour Eye Pencil Crayon.
I love this eye liner Its nice and dark and stays on all day.
13. Natural Collection Crushed Walnut Eye shadow.
I use this to shade my Eyebrows I find Eyeshadow is better for me than an eyebrow pencil.
14. Natural Collection duo Eyeshadow Mink/ Sable.
These are nice and natural colours, I tend to wear this for work.
15. MAC Bronze A16 Eye shadow.
I use this for underneath my lower eye lashes, in the corners of my eye and for any eye lid shading.

16. My Fav 3 Perfumes at the Moment are:-
Micheal Kors Oringinal.
It was the First Perfume My Hubby Bought for me 7 Years ago and I just Love it. It has an extotic scent but is quite exspensive So if theres a special occasion like a birthday of Christmas I will ask for it.
Balenciaga Paris.
This was my Wedding perfume hubby bought it for me as my Wedding perfume and I love it, It reminds me of our Wedding day and our Honeymoon.
Juicy Couture viva La Juicy.
This is Quite Sweet and fruity and reminds me of a summers day.

I Hope you have enjoyed reading My Must Have's.
Please feel free to Leave any comments or ask me any questions.
Have A Nice Day

L'oreal Lash Architect 4D Mascara

I needed a new mascara and was in a hurry so just picked this one up. When I went home and tried it and was pleasantly surprised as I wasn't really paying attention to what I was buying.

I think my lashes are quite fine and short and definitely think this mascara gives me volume and gives a false eyelash effect. I love the long wand it has. I bought this from boots at around £10 which is good for a mascara.

There are some bad reviews on the net of this mascara but it's one of the best mascara's Iv bought.

I would defiantly recommend L'oreal lash architect, go buy it and let me know what you think!!!

Have a lovely day

Positive OPK!

Happy Valentines day everyone! Me and hubby had a lovely day at a beautiful Spa. It was my present to him as he has been super busy and stressed at work so thought he could do with a relaxing day.
I was suppose to post this the other day but completely forgot. I normally do cheapie opk's that I got off eBay that show two lines. Personally I think they are quite hard to read as you really want the lines to be dark you sometimes think you are ovulating but your not! So I decided to buy a clear blue digital ovulation test which has 7 test strips in the box and test holder. You put one of the test strips into the test holder wait for the symbol on the display and tinkle on it :-)
After 3 minutes a smiley face should appear which means an LH surge has been detected or if a round circle appears there's is no LH surge, simple as that!
This month I carried on taking the cheap opks until I thought it was positive and then took one of the Clear blue tests and it came back positive! I was so excited it was if I had a positive pregnancy test. By doing this I'm
Not spending as much money by not using clear blue all the time and i know
Im Not misreading the test.
Here are my tests!

TTC update

So I haven't posted for a while, with Christmas and New Year and working in between its been crazy.
So here's an update of our TTC journey.
I had my letter from the fertility specialist that we have been referred too by the doctor and I will be seeing them on the 25th. My acupuncturist suggested I charted my temperature to try and gage ovulation which hasn't worked out as planned this month.  It's been all over the place! By my temperature I haven't ovulated this month but by my opks I ovulated twice.

I started spotting on cd28 which I thought maybe the start of AF which is normally between cd30-36 but ( sorry tmi) it just stayed a brown discharge and tiny little pink spots. I didn't want to get too excited but I thought maybe this is implantation bleeding!
I'm now on cd45 and still no period and I have taken neumorous pregnancy tests and all negative :-( . So god knows what is going on. I have no symptoms of AF arriving. I normally get sore breast when I ovulate then ttcthey get more painful when AF arrives along with bad cramps a day before it begins. I haven't been to the doctors because I think I will just wait to see what the specialist says.  It's such a roller coaster!!!!!

Present tags from old Christmas cards

Merry Christmas and a Happy New year everyone!
With the busy festive time and working in between I just haven't had enough time to blog. I wanted to get this post in before you put away all your Christmas things as I think it's a great way to collect Christmas present tags from old Christmas cards.
It seems such a shame that after Christmas you have to throw away your cards. They always have such cute scenes on them, so what I do is cut the front off or if the card is big I just cut round the nicest part to make a present tag. It's great!!! Here are some I made from my cards this year.

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone I hope you got all you wished for!! I have been very spoilt by hubby.
